SELECTION
The “Standard White Door” is the most common garage door you see in your neighborhood. Most buyers start with the "Standard White Door" and then discover the unique options available with different insulation values, panel designs, colors, and window configurations, and decorative hardware. Find a location near you to get started.
INSTALLATION
To get a correctly sized door, several measurements need to be taken.
- Width and height of the garage door opening.
- Sideroom – the distance from the edge of the door opening to any wall or obstruction
- Headroom – the distance from the top of the finished door opening to the ceiling
- Room depth – the distance from the finished door opening to the point where hardware or the opener will extend
Our professional technicians will come to measure your door opening during your purchase process.
NationServe's policy requires property owners to have a floor and drywall in place to install a new door.
Standard residential: 12"
Standard commercial: 20"
Most doors can be repainted after installation, but not all. Wayne Dalton Garage Doors have a variety of color options, including TruChoice®, a custom color system with more than 6,000 colors.
INSULATION
In addition to helping control the temperature of your garage, insulation also strengthens your door and helps reduce noise from outside. The amount of insulation you need largely depends on the climate where you live. If living spaces abut the garage, a high insulation value is desirable.
R-value lets you know the insulation value of your garage door. An insulated door helps keep your garage cooler in the summer months and warmer during the winter. For R-values, the bigger the number the more insulative the door is.

WIND LOAD REQUIREMENTS
The best way to find out if your garage door meets wind load requirements is to:
- Look at the back of your door for the wind load sticker, which will provide all wind load ratings and specifications.
- Check with a local architect, engineer, or building official.
- Contact your insurance company to see if they have any additional requirements or to receive appropriate discounts.
- Contact NationServe to inspect your door.
